JAE
Jae is a Hong Kong based Artist whose work delves into the intricate relationship between hip-hop and trap soul. Through subtle wordplay, smooth delivery with hedonic rhythm, creating chaotic yet ordered abstractions. His art serves as the exploration of new sounds, offering viewers a glimpse into his alter ego.
The foundation of Jae's creative process is rooted in a childhood spent honing abilities in performing arts, learning a skill after the other. This fuels a meticulous process where each piece begins with a creative train of thought, over which is reflected in his art. Influenced by the local scenes of Hong Kong and the Philippines, Jae seeks to bridge the gap between the poetic soul of a Filipino Artist and the growing global, bass-driven pulse of modern hip-hop in his city.
Emerging from a DIY foundation during the 2020 lockdown, he debuted with the moody single “Booty Call” and now advances his profile with the sophomore release “ISY” (February 2026), produced by Since 1999, mixed and mastered by MANILA GREY’s lead engineer, Aidan Maclean Parker—connecting Hong Kong’s vibrant energy with Vancouver’s polished studio craft.
